Conditions of Sale

All items are being sold “as is”.  The Auction committee or the Auctioneer cannot provide warranties either written or implied as to the condition, authenticity, availability or the value of the auction items.  All sales are final.  There will be no exchanges on items or refunds except where specified by the Auctioneer.  The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer is the purchaser.  In the event of any dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall have absolute discretion as to who is the successful bidder.

All purchases will be totaled when you check out.  Full payment of each purchaser's account must be received by the close of the auction.  Payment may be made in cash, check or credit card before the item is removed.   Payment of items at checkout will be located in the “Break-out room” at the Devens Common Center. If the purchaser must leave early and is unable to stay for the check out process, they will have 14 days to complete the payment process. If after the 14 days, the item will go back out to bid and is no longer the successful bidder.

Silent Auction Rules

Silent auction items are displayed and/or described on the tables around the room.  There is a slip for each item with columns to place your bid number and the bid amount.  You may bid on an item as many times as you like.  All bids must be kept to the whole dollar amounts.   Listen for table closing announcements in order to place final bids on items.   As tables are closed, the highest final bid will be highlighted and the winning bid number and amount will be left on the table.  Items will be distributed to the highest bidder once they are paid in full.

Live Auction Rules

Live auction items are displayed on the tables in front of the podium.  They will proceed in the order outlined in the program.  The Auctioneer is responsible for setting the opening bid and for determining the bidding increments for each item.  If you wish to bid on an item, raise your plate number so the Auctioneer can see your number and accept your bid.  You will be provided with an assigned bidding number when you check in at the Auction.

The Auctioneer will end the bid with the winning bidder number and the dollar amount.  After each item is sold, the Auctioneer reserves the right to make any corrections and changes as necessary.

All checks should be made payable to Gates School PTO at checkout.
